The World’s Greatest Ball Striker: Moe Norman Mic’d Up

Moe Norman has been called “your favorite ball striker’s favorite ball striker”. For modern enthusiasts who haven’t ever seen the Canadian play, his swing may still look somewhat familiar. He perfected the single plane golf swing, and was a major influence on Bryson DeChambeau. In his playing prime, Moe was considered eccentric, and his idiosyncratic nature had a major impact on his playing career. He was dubbed “Golf’s Clown” and faded from the public eye into obscurity. It wasn’t until later that specialists discovered the reason behind Moe’s unique personality and approach to the game. At age 5, Moe suffered a brain injury in a sledding accident that world-renowned psychiatrist & expert on Autism Spectrum Disorders, Darold Treffert, says made him an acquired savant. While will never know the extent of his genius from a scientific perspective, the evidence is clear: No one has ever played the game quite like him.
